Home Environment Risk Assessment
A highly configurable online Home Environment Risk Assessment that enables employers to carry out risk assessments easily and quickly on large numbers of employees.
Employers have the same legal duty of care for homeworkers as they do for office-based workers. The Management of Health and Safety Regulations states that “employers are responsible for the health and safety of homeworkers, as far as is reasonably practicable”. Under the regulations, “every employer shall make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to the health and safety of his employees to which they are exposed whilst they are at work”. Employers do not need to visit the homes of workers in person, employees can carry out their own risk assessment under the guidance of the employer.
The Home Environment Risk Assessment enables employers to meet all their Health and Safety obligations easily and quickly. Employees complete an online risk assessment of their home working environment via a smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer. They can solve many issues for themselves using the online application, which includes all the information they need to assess and manage any homeworking hazards. Line managers/human resources review the completed risk assessments, which will include photographic evidence, and resolve any concerns that could not be addressed by the employees themselves. The system manages and controls the entire process, so that meeting the Health and Safety obligations of employers is simple and cost-effective to achieve.
